My unwanted opinion about the new Cyber Crime Law

Cyber Crime Law will become effective tomorrow, 3rd October, so good bye torrents and music downloads.
Not only the teenagers but also the adults are complaining about this law and as the society pressures me, I'm tempted to join their "revolution" against this law.
Tonight, 2nd October, most of my Facebook friends have changed their display picture into plain black ones, a.k.a "black out call" campaign. As I am much tempted to do the same thing, I couldn't. And it's not because I'm afraid of the outcome, but I didn't really know about everything in it.
People are telling that freedom of speech will be gone but also cybersex and child pornography. They may have only seen the "negative" side of it, e.g. torrents, music downloads, violent posts.
What the government, I believe, must do, is to educate the people about the whole thing about the law and not only the parts of it. I have read, "Ambagal nang kumonek ng laptop ko sa Wi-Fi,kasama ba to sa Cyber Crime Law???" Oh, the ignorance of the Filipino youth. This fine example can attest of what I have said before. EDUCATE the people, not using the technical terms, but using the lay man's term, so the people  might know the real pros and cons of this law.

Insert own opinion here: As same with the RH bill, I guess the Philippines is not yet ready for this Law.

Live tweets from concerts?

To be honest, I've never been to "real concerts" before. Well, I have been to concerts in our university which featured Silent Sanctuary, Hilera, Parokya ni Edgar, Soapdish(?), and others.

But I have never really been to those other concerts where you smell and feel the sweat of other people rubbing against you, but it doesn't mean that I WANT TO FEEL SOMEONE ELSE'S SWEAT ON ME. PLEASE, DON'T GET ME WRONG.

So tonight is a very dreadful night for me, Maroon 5 is back in Manila and I'm here sitting in front of my laptop complaining about it. I have actually promised myself, way back 2011 that I would watch Maroon 5 live when they return back in Manila. But I guess I'll have to wait till they are... Maroon 6 to watch them live *bad pun here*

It isn't that my parents will allow me to watch, but if given really a chance to watch them and see Adam Levine shirtless. Why not?

And the grades are out!

Before I hit the one-month period of not updating this blog, I will make an update about my progress in my sophomore year.

Truth to be told, I wasn't really sure about my grade/s this semester because I tend to slack off my butt and just pretend that I didn't have an assignment
But it was indeed a miracle when the portal showed me my midterm grades:
Yay!

I was really nervous about my grades in Church and Speech Comm because I know I didn't excel in those subjects and I want to thank all the angels and saints that answered my prayers!

I month to excel further! I can do better!

Midterms are finally done!

It has been 5 days since I last updated my blog, and the main reason is... MIDTERMS! Our midterms should have been from August 8-10, but since classes were suspended it was pushed through August 15-17.

Oh boy, MIDTERMS ARE HELL.

I was late for our Speech Comm test because of the LRT ride to Pedro Gil, I was silently cursing at the wind and wanting the train to move to Pedro Gil right away. It was actually a blessing that I saw Lorraine and we both went up to the 4th floor... BARE FOOTED.

Fortunately, there nobody who had finished the exam! I was actually happy because of that. My other tests for that day was kind of "okay"

Truth to be told, I'm not really confident with all of my answers in the tests. I wish that when I receive my grades, it'll be what I deserve.

Four books behind.

Goodreads have devised a way to get bookworms get more addicted to reading and it's through the widget "Reading Challenge"
I have promised myself that I will reach my goal this year (which is ONLY 12 books okay!, my previous reading challenge was 24) and I started off pretty good actually.
  • I bought my first book for the year (January 2012) after our midterm examinations but was interrupted because of the University's activities, I finished the book, Norwegian Wood, two months after buying it (which is kind of a fail)
  • I bought 2 books (consecutively) during our Summer class, both were of John Green, I was really happy to always have a book to read.
Time passed by and I forgot to buy new books. Months passed (and due to the consecutive suspension) I. WANT. A. NEW. BOOK.

I feel that my life is beginning to be empty without a book in hand and ready to be indulged in another universe, especially after watching Fight Club (but that's another story). One of these days I'll scavenge book sales for good books to read.

18th birthday celebration

My family and I celebrated my 18th birthday twice actually. The
first one was held 30th of July, classes were suspended because of rainfall. We went to Yakimix at SM North Edsa to eat lunch :)

30th July
Seated at Table 29! ♥

Mom and Dad :)

Mom, Dad (not looking!), Me, Younger Cousin, and Brother :)

The family and I celebrated at Yakimix! SM North Edsa, it was actually the first time in years that my father went to SM North Edsa and I was so happy that we were complete.

Sushi! ♥

Younger cousin and I getting Ice Cream :p

Masterpiece I made! Brother actually asked me, whether I really wan the ice cream or just the toppings! :))

8th of August
My real birth date! :) Classes were again suspended because of the severe rainfall that occurred the day before, which caused terrible flood around the Metro Manila. I was a bit sad because of the weather, but my dad cheered me up! ♥

Birthday cake that Dad bought me because I was really sad. :))

My family is actually suckers for Pizza! Tried out Shakey's pizza for a change!

Mojos! ♥

---
My birthday was indeed a blast, even though there was no celebration... just me and my family, I am so contented and I couldn't ask for more!

Latest weather forecast: Heavy rain throughout

Since last Monday, it has been raining nonstop which resulted to 2 cancellation and 1 suspension of classes.
Among the heavy rain that was spread throughout the ten days, I believe that last night and today are the worst.

BRING BACK LAST NIGHT
Speech class ended at 3:00PM, I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt because of a short performance. Paulo and I decided not to change back to our uniforms because there is only one class left and it's raining heavily. But, I wasn't really comfortable not to be in my uniform so I changed back.
Raine asked me to accompany her for Beth's surprise celebration, since Beth is also my friend I decided to stay. (Even though I told my dad that I will come home straight after class)
At 5PM, the surprise celebration for Beth ended, Jessica and I decided to go home straight. It was really raining heavily outside the university's campus! Ugh, we decided to take a jeepney to the LRT terminal but they were all full. We decided to take a pedicab for 20 pesos.
The streets of Pedro Gil was starting to be flooded.
Luckily there was a skip train in the Quirino station, so it was really easy boarding the rain.
The problem occurred when I went down to the Monumento station! Ughhh, the streets were already flooded and it was pouring heavily. I decided to take the alternate (but long) route going home.
The streets were already flooded and I was wearing my university uniform. Oh the joys of rain!
When the jeep dropped us off, the flood was more than ankle-deep high. Ugh, I was shouting and cursing for the flood. The pedicab driver was teasing me and said, "Ate, bumabaha na!" (There's already flood!) I just replied to him, "I know right!"
When I arrived home, half of my skirt was already wet from the flood and I felt icky.
There was already an announcement of cancellation of classes for Manila, and we were already rejoicing when one of the staff said that WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE DECLARATION STRAIGHT FROM THE UNIVERSITY.

Oh joy! They are not following the instructions given by the Mayor of Manila! Ughh. But I decided that I won't be going to school because of the flood that was shown on TV.

FAST FORWARD TO TODAY
Most of my classmates were asking me if we have classes today, I didn't reply because (A) I was asleep till 10AM, (B) My other phone doesn't have any network coverage! Ughhhhh. I heard the news that outside from our streets, the place is severely flooded.
I pray for the Philippines, I pray that this "rain" (and not really a STORM), would pass so people won't be harmed anymore.
Manila and other parts of Luzon are really severely flooded, everything is in knee-deep flood and I wish for everyone's safety.

A new one?

It's been almost 5 years since I've started blogging and yet I'm still here creating another blog. I know that I should get tired from always re-creating another blog after the other.

I have 'promised' myself that my last deleted blog was really my last. But look-y here! I made a new one! Ugh.

I know I'll eventually lose interest in posting here, I know I'll get tired from always posting stuff in here, I know I'll lose the time and effort in posting things here.

But for a while, I'll enjoy this while it lasts.
